The Southern Armed Forces carried out a large-scale deployment in Modiya District

REPORTS - 15 day ago

In an ongoing effort to combat terrorism and enhance security in Abyan Governorate, the Southern Armed Forces carried out a large-scale deployment in Modiya District, targeting terrorist elements affiliated with Al-Qaeda. During this operation, clashes broke out, resulting in the killing and injury of several terrorists, while one southern soldier was martyred.

This operation is part of a broader campaign aimed at cleansing Abyan of terrorist organizations, particularly following a series of attacks targeting Southern forces in the region. Earlier, Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces were subjected to a terrorist armed attack in Abyan, leading to casualties.

The Southern Armed Forces reaffirm their commitment to pursuing military operations with full determination until all terrorist cells and elements are eradicated, cutting off their logistical and human supply lines. Reports also indicate collaboration between these terrorist groups and the Houthi militia, aiming to destabilize security in the South, particularly in Abyan and Shabwa.

It is worth noting that Abyan has recently witnessed an increase in terrorist attacks, prompting Southern forces to intensify their military operations to restore security and stability in the region.
