South Eye | Report - Exclusive

President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, continues his field visits to the southern governorates, placing maritime security and the protection of international navigation among his top strategic priorities. He recognizes that safeguarding vital waterways, such as Bab al-Mandab and the Arabian Sea, begins with ensuring internal stability and strengthening the security and military capabilities of the South.

President Al-Zubaidi has made a firm strategy to protect international waterways started from building capable Southern forces which maintain security and counter terrorist threats, smuggling operations, and any activities that may jeopardize regional security and maritime navigation. His visits to key locations, including the capital Aden, Hadramout, Shabwa, Abyan, and Socotra, reaffirm his commitment to enhancing the readiness of security forces and equipping them with the necessary resources and training to address maritime threats such as arms and drug smuggling, human trafficking, and transnational terrorism.

Despite significant local efforts, President Al-Zubaidi understands that addressing major threats including piracy, smuggling, human trafficking, and other hostile activities that endanger international navigation requires effective regional and global cooperation. During his meetings with regional and international officials, he has consistently called for strategic partnerships to enhance the capabilities of Southern forces, whether through advanced training or the provision of modern equipment, to ensure that the South can effectively fulfill its role in protecting maritime security.

Amid escalating security threats in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, President Al-Zubaidi affirms that the South for sure is a reliable partner in securing global trade and vital maritime routes. This highlights the urgent need for regional and international support that aligns with Southern efforts to ensure regional stability and safeguard shared interests. He has repeatedly stressed that securing international navigation is a fundamental pillar of both regional and global security. Through his proactive strategy focused on strengthening internal security and forging strong regional and international partnerships President Al-Zubaidi is positioning the South as a main, pivotal key player in maritime security, reinforcing the principle that the stability of global navigation is directly linked to the stability of the South itself, as the security of the South is a strategic part of the security of the region, and the world as a whole.
