The Secretariat General of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting today, Monday, in the capital Aden, chaired by Mr. Mohammed Al-Shaqi, Assistant Secretary-General for Governorate and Coordination Affairs.

The meeting reviewed the latest political developments on the southern national and regional scenes related to the cause of the southern people during the first half of April 2025. Key topics included the political situation in Hadramout Governorate and the ongoing U.S. airstrikes against the terrorist Houthi group in recent days.

The discussions also addressed the economic and service conditions in the South during March 2025 and their impact on citizens' livelihoods. The report highlighted updates on the electricity situation in Aden, the continued collapse of the local currency amid the absence of solutions from relevant authorities, and the repercussions of the influx of displaced persons into southern governorates.

Additionally, the meeting examined an observational report on human rights developments in the southern governorates during the first quarter of 2025. Notable issues included the deprivation of students' right to education, deteriorating healthcare services, and the absence of humanitarian aid.

The Secretariat also reviewed the minutes of its previous meeting, approved them, and incorporated relevant observations.
