South Eye | Hadramaut

Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, President of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), chaired an emergency meeting today, Monday, with the Executive Body of the STC’s Local Leadership in Hadhramaut Governorate. The meeting aimed to review ongoing preparations for the mass rally Hadhramaut First, which will commemorate the ninth anniversary of liberating Hadhramaut’s coast from terrorism.

During the meeting attended by Brigadier Saeed Al-Mahamdi, Head of the STC’s Executive in the Governorate; Mr. Mohamed Al-Zubaidi, Assistant Head of the Executive for Wadi Hadhramaut Affairs; and Mr. Mohamed Bamatraaf, Acting Director of the Public and Social Affairs Department in the General Secretariat. Al-Kathiri assessed the comprehensive preparations for the event across all levels.

Al-Kathiri emphasized the need for coordination between the central celebration committee and the governorate’s districts, ensuring proper arrangements to receive crowds and guests participating in the rally from various districts. He stressed securing the event and making the day of Hadhramaut’s liberation from terrorist organizations a day of victory for Hadhramaut as a whole, and particularly for the heroes of the Hadhrami elite, in recognition of the martyrs and their sacrifices.

He reiterated the importance of involving all societal forces, segments, and components of Hadhramaut in the celebrations, engaging with local leaders, coordinators, STC members, National Assembly representatives, and advisors in Hadhramaut. This, he noted, would amplify the event’s momentum and reflect the profound significance of this anniversary in the hearts of Hadhramaut’s sons. Al-Kathiri underscored the unity of ranks, affirming that Hadhramaut is not the exclusive domain of any single party or faction, while firmly adhering to the project of liberation, independence, and the establishment of a federal Southern state.

Concluding his remarks, Al-Kathiri called on all the sons of Hadhramaut officially and popularly to actively and broadly participate in this major event and to ensure the success of all accompanying activities and programs.
