Aden | South Eye

Major General Kamal Jawad Hamshari, Member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council and Acting Secretary-General of the General Secretariat, inaugurated today, Wednesday, in the capital, Aden, a photo exhibition organized by the Media and Culture Department of the General Secretariat under the title: "Camera of the South – Documenting and Showcasing the Southern Transitional Council’s Activities in 2024", under the patronage of President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi.

The exhibition coincides with the eighth anniversary of the Historic Aden Declaration and the founding of the Southern Transitional Council. The opening was attended by Mr. Mohammed Al-Shaqi, Assistant Secretary-General for Provincial and Coordination Affairs, along with a number of heads of auxiliary bodies. During the event, Dr. Basem Mansour Al-Houshabi, Head of the Media and Culture Department in the General Secretariat, provided a comprehensive explanation of the exhibition’s sections and the documented photographs that highlight the key milestones and activities carried out by the Council’s bodies throughout 2024.

The exhibition showcased the activities and movements of President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi at both domestic and international levels. It also included sections dedicated to the National Assembly and the Advisory Council, in addition to highlighting key meetings and visits conducted by outreach teams and political awareness initiatives across the southern governorates.

Furthermore, the exhibition documented a range of activities and events carried out by the General Secretariat, its departments, and auxiliary bodies—including humanitarian, relief, political, sports, educational, cultural, and social efforts.

It is worth noting that this annual exhibition will run for two days, from May 7 to 8, 2025. It witnessed broad attendance from members of the Council’s various bodies and comes as part of the ongoing documentation efforts led by the Media and Culture Department of the General Secretariat. These efforts aim to chronicle the path of the Southern Transitional Council and its political leadership in advocating for the cause of the southern people—recognizing that a photograph is a powerful and concise expression of ideas, positions, and victories, and an essential component of a people’s memory passed down through generations.
