Al-Mahrami Discusses Military Developments and Defense Capacity Enhancement with Minister of Defense

Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council and Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, met today, Saturday, in the capital Aden, with Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari, to discuss the latest military developments in light of the continued targeting of international shipping lanes by the terrorist Houthi militia, which threatens international peace and security.

Al-Mahrami was briefed by Al-Daari on comprehensive updates regarding the military situation across various fronts, the readiness level of the armed forces, and the Ministry’s efforts to improve the capacities of army personnel. The briefing also covered the enhancement of training and qualification programs through specialized military educational institutions.

The meeting addressed the priorities of the upcoming phase and discussed ways to develop the defense and logistical capabilities of the armed forces to keep pace with field challenges and ensure mission execution with efficiency and discipline. This comes within the framework of a national vision aimed at unifying field performance and improving coordination among different military formations.

Al-Mahrami was also briefed by Minister Al-Daari on the efforts of the ministerial committee assigned to coordinate with relevant entities to ensure the free movement of goods between governorates—including the smooth delivery of fuel to the capital, Aden—to help improve essential services for citizens.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Al-Mahrami stressed the importance of raising the level of operational coordination between the Ministry of Defense and relevant bodies to confront current threats and safeguard national gains achieved through the tremendous sacrifices made by the heroes of the armed forces across various fields and frontlines.
