President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Saturday, in the capital Aden, with the Minister of Public Works and Roads, Engineer Salem Al-Huraizi.

During the meeting, President Commander Al-Zubaidi received a detailed report from Minister Al-Huraizi on the progress of work within the ministry and its affiliated agencies, as well as the completion status of ongoing infrastructure projects in Aden capital and several other governorates—particularly road maintenance and rehabilitation projects—along with the ministry’s future plans to improve and enhance operational quality.

President Al-Zubaidi also listened to an explanation of the challenges hindering the implementation of certain projects, especially those related to funding and logistical obstacles due to the country’s current economic conditions. He was briefed on the ministry’s efforts to overcome these challenges in coordination with relevant government authorities.

The President stressed the necessity for the ministry and its affiliated agencies to focus their efforts on completing the maintenance and rehabilitation of strategic roads connecting governorates, given their critical role in facilitating citizen mobility, trade, and the transportation of goods, thereby supporting national economic activity.

Furthermore, President Commander Al-Zubaidi directed the swift completion of road projects linking the districts of Aden capital, particularly the Kaltax Roundabout Bridge in Mansoura District and the Marine Road, a vital artery connecting the capital’s districts. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the highest standards of quality and transparency in project execution to ensure their sustainability.
