South Eye:

The trade union, labor, and administrative federations, and civil society organizations in the South are following, with national and professional responsibility, the broad popular movement and unprecedented peaceful sit-ins taking place across the Southern arena. These have spread across all squares and capitals of the governorates, cities, and villages of the South -from Al-Mahra to Socotra and Bab al-Mandab - through which millions of our Southern people have expressed their free will and their explicit demand to restore their state, and their appeal to His Excellency President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi to take the historic step of declaring the State of South Arabia.

This organized peaceful movement comes within the framework of the legitimate exercise of fundamental rights and freedoms guaranteed under international conventions, foremost among them the right to peaceful assembly and freedom of opinion and expression. It represents a sincere expression of mature collective awareness and a deeply rooted popular will seeking to restore the legitimate national rights of the people of the South, in accordance with the rules of public international law and the principles of justice and the rights of peoples.

These popular developments coincide with decisive field transformations following the qualitative military successes achieved by the Southern Armed Forces in a number of governorates, foremost among them Hadramout and Al-Mahra, most recently the decisive operation in Abyan Governorate. These developments have contributed to consolidating effective control on the ground, enhancing security and stability, and neutralizing sources of terrorist threats, in line with international commitments to counterterrorism, protect civilians, and secure international maritime passages.

Civil society organizations and Southern federations and unions affirm that the convergence between popular will and field progress constitutes a pivotal historic moment in the path toward restoring Southern national sovereignty. They consider that reclaiming Southern decision-making is no longer merely a political option, but rather a national, legal, and moral necessity dictated by the responsibility to protect the Southern individual, safeguard their dignity, and end decades of injustice, suffering, and grave violations of their political, economic, and social rights.

Based on our national and societal responsibility, and our humanitarian, union, and professional duty to express the interests and rights of broad segments of the Southern people, we declare the following:

First: The Southern federations, unions, and civil society organizations affirm their full and steadfast support for the Southern Armed Forces, and commend their national sacrifices in strengthening security and stability and defending land and people, as the legitimate national institution tasked with protecting civilians, combating terrorism, and establishing security and stability in accordance with the principles of international humanitarian law.

Second: The Southern federations, unions, and civil society organizations express their appreciation and pride in the peaceful popular crowds that emerged across the various governorates, squares, and fields of the South, and affirm that this movement represents a civilized practice and a clear, unambiguous message: the will of the people of the South cannot be bypassed or circumvented in any future political arrangements.

Third: The Southern federations, unions, and civil society organizations call upon His Excellency President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, to respond to the will of his people and take the historic decision to declare the State of South Arabia within its internationally recognized borders prior to 1990, embodying the aspirations of the Southern people and crowning a long struggle in which our people made immense sacrifices for their freedom and dignity.

Fourth: The Southern federations, unions, and civil society organizations call upon the Arab Coalition countries, the international community, and regional and international federations, unions, and organizations to deal with the Southern cause as a people's cause and an inherent right, and to support our people's right to establish their free and independent state in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and the principles of international law, in a manner that contributes to enhancing regional and international security and stability.

Fifth: The Southern federations, unions, and civil society organizations commend the positive role and the humanitarian, political, and military support provided by the Arab Coalition countries, foremost among them the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which had a significant impact on protecting civilians, supporting counterterrorism efforts, and enabling the South to confront security challenges.

Sixth: The Southern federations, unions, and civil society organizations demand that the aspired Southern state be a state of law and institutions, founded on social justice, respect for human rights, guaranteeing trade-union and professional freedoms, committed to international conventions and agreements, and acting as an effective and responsible partner in consolidating security and stability for the South and for all peoples of the region and the world. It should work to build balanced relations based on good neighborliness, mutual respect, and non-interference in the affairs of others.
