President Al-Zubaidi and Maj. Gen. Al-Bahsani Meet British and French Ambassadors and US Chargé d\'Affaire

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), and Major General Faraj Salmin Al-Bahsani, Vice President of the STC and Vice Chairman of the PLC, met on Thursday in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with the UK Ambassador to Yemen, Abda Sharif; the French Ambassador, Catherine Corm-Kammoun; and the US Chargé d'Affaires, Jonathan Prccia.

The meeting reviewed the latest political, humanitarian, and economic developments in the country, as well as the ongoing efforts being made in the path of economic recovery and the development of sovereign resources to contribute to improving the living situation and alleviating the suffering of citizens amidst the current challenges.

The meeting also discussed the challenges facing the work of the PLC amid the ongoing crisis and the absence of a clear participatory mechanism regulating the PLC's performance and its decision-making process.

In this context, President Al-Zubaidi and his vice president reaffirmed the STC's commitment to the PLC's cohesiveness and to preserving the principles of the existing power-sharing agreement, which underpins the unity of the front opposing the terrorist Houthi militia. They highlighted the urgent need for serious measures to correct the PLC's work, moving away from the monopolization of the decrees and the disregard for controls of the current political partnership.

In turn, the ambassadors of the three countries reaffirmed their governments' support for the PLC and the government, highlighting the importance of maintaining the cohesiveness and harmony of the forces within the PLC and working on whatever upholds the principles of political partnership.

Furthermore, the ambassadors expressed their appreciation for the key role of the STC in various dossiers of political, economic, and security importance. They commended the role performed by the Southern forces in combating terrorism, acts of piracy, the smuggling of weapons to the Houthi militia, and countering Iranian expansion in the region.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, a member of the STC's Presidium and Head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission (CRC) supporting the PLC; Mr. Amr Al-Beidh, Special Representative of the President of the STC for Foreign Affairs; Mr. Imad Mohammed, director of the office of the Vice President of the PLC; Mr. Mohammed Ali Ahmed, Deputy Head of the General Authority of STC Foreign Affairs; and Mr. Saleh Al-Quiti, Advisor to President Al-Zubaidi.
