The Southern Arabian Transitional Council (STC) welcomes the Yemen Cannot Wait joint statement by international humanitarian, development and civil-society organizations @reliefweb and appreciates the continued commitment and support of international NGOs to the people of the South.

We encourage further international donor support through these organisations to help tackle the severe humanitarian crisis facing communities across the South, which has been deepened further by increased refugee flows from North Yemen.

The STC stands ready to take every measure to facilitate humanitarian access to the South and calls on the Saudi-backed de facto authorities in Aden to remove the bureaucratic obstacles to humanitarian operations that hinders delivery.

The STC strongly supports the release of arbitrarily detained personnel. We also call for an end to restrictions on civic space and political freedoms across the South by the de facto authorities in Aden and their Saudi backers.

The STC calls for a cessation of hostilities and an inclusive political process that addresses the problem of unity. Such a process can deliver a fair and sustainable peace for Southerners and the wider region.
