'Everyone is captured by holiday; they are the captives missing for the holidays': a symbolic demonstration was held in Lviv to draw attention to prisoners of war.

The families of Ukrainian defenders held captive by Russians, those whose loved ones are missing, and compassionate locals gathered for a demonstration. In the centre of the square in Lviv, a symbolic display was created – a table adorned with Christmas decorations and empty chairs, with military jackets placed upon them to resemble the missing.

For yet another winter, many Ukrainian families are unable to gather around the table and share the joy of Christmas Eve – Russia has robbed them of this moment. Some are waiting for the release of their loved ones from captivity, while others are hoping for them to return from the frontline. And for some, Russia has destroyed even the chance for that blissful moment.
