Position Statement: Respect for the South Is Built on Respect of Its Sovereignty

Amid the growing complexities of the Yemeni landscape, the people of South Yemen remain committed to their legitimate right to self-determination and to managing their affairs free from dominance and external interference, which have repeatedly failed to bring about stability.

The South, through its political and security institutions, has demonstrated its commitment to peace and openness to regional and international partnerships—based on mutual respect and shared interests. However, certain actors continue to disregard this balanced approach and persist in antagonizing the South merely because it refuses to accept imposed guardianship over its national decision-making.

South affirm that hostility or friendship is not built on rhetoric or sentiment, but on actions. Any party that supports stability in the South and respects the aspirations of its people will find in Southerners a responsible partner. Those who persist in political or security interference and destabilization will be met with a firm sovereign response.

The Southern hand extended for cooperation, Southern  eyes remain vigilant in defense of South' land and dignity.
