Al-Mahrami meets with the leadership of the Supreme Judicial Council and affirms his support for judicial independence and the file of forcibly excluded from their positions

Vice president of Southern Transitional Council and Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, met on Thursday in the capital, Aden, with the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Mohsen Yahya Taleb, and the Council’s Secretary-General, Judge Sahl Mohammed Hamzah, to discuss the functioning of the judiciary and the challenges it faces in carrying out its duties across the liberated governorates.

At the outset of the meeting, Al-Mahrami congratulated Judge Sahl Hamzah on his appointment as Secretary-General of the Supreme Judicial Council and as a member of the Council, wishing him success in his responsibilities and affirming his full support for the independence of the judiciary and the strengthening of its role in establishing justice and the rule of law.

In a separate context, Al-Mahrami discussed with Judge Sahl Mohammed Hamzah, in his capacity as Chairman of the Committee for Addressing the Cases of The forcibly excluded from Civil, Security, and Military Positions in the Southern Governorates, mechanisms to improve the committee's operations and ensure the continued reception and processing of files related to the forcibly excluded, in accordance with legal regulations and the principles of transitional justice.

Al-Mahrami stressed his deep commitment to following up on this humanitarian and national issue and completing what had been achieved in previous phases. He emphasized the importance of overcoming obstacles facing the committee and enabling it to carry out its work effectively, in service of rights and restoring trust in institutions.

For his part, Judge Mohsen Yahya Taleb, President of the Supreme Judicial Council, praised Al-Mahrami’s efforts and continued support for the judiciary and the promotion of its independence. He noted that such support is a vital pillar in the pursuit of strengthening the rule of law and entrenching justice within the state's institutions.

Meanwhile, Judge Sahl Mohammed Hamzah, Chairman of the Committee for Addressing the Cases of excluded Employees, expressed his gratitude to Commander Al-Mahrami for his support of the committee’s efforts to bring justice to the forcibly excluded. He affirmed the ongoing development of the committee's mechanisms to achieve administrative justice and ensure rightful claims are upheld, in line with the directives of senior leadership and principles of fairness.
