President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, and Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council, chaired an expanded meeting today with military and security leaders from across the southern governorates.

At the outset of the meeting, attended by Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri, President of the STC’s National Assembly, President Al-Zubaidi expressed his profound pleasure at convening this gathering with elite military and security leaders. He praised their pivotal role in maintaining security and stability in the south, emphasizing that this meeting comes at a critically important juncture, given the rapid regional and international developments and their direct repercussions on the southern landscape.

In his address, President Al-Zubaidi reviewed a range of military and political developments on the regional stage, as well as the efforts of the STC to ensure the south remains an active and influential player in regional and international decision-making centers. This is achieved through its effective partnership with the Arab Coalition, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as through international understandings aimed at ensuring the region’s security and stability.

The President underscored that the south has become a formidable factor in the regional political and military equation, thanks to the sacrifices of its men and the cohesion of its security and military institutions. He stressed that partnership with the international community obligates everyone to redouble their efforts and adhere to the highest levels of readiness, discipline, and responsibility.

President Al-Zubaidi commended the efforts of the Mini-Staff Committee in reorganizing the Southern Armed Forces and the tangible progress in training and rehabilitation. He noted that these steps represent a genuine foundation for transitioning from the resistance phase to building a professional, regular military institution that meets the requirements of the envisioned state.

The President affirmed that building state institutions, foremost among them the military and security apparatus, requires a collective, intensified effort and full commitment to the spirit of law, order, and military discipline. He emphasized the need for continuous work to enhance combat efficiency through systematic training and specialized qualification for leadership and personnel.

President Al-Zubaidi also stressed the importance of command and control unit as the backbone of any successful military institution. He pointed out that discipline starts with the leader and reflects on the soldier, and that the absence of discipline among personnel is, in reality, a direct reflection of weak or faltering leadership.

Addressing the attendees, President Al-Zubaidi stated: "A true leader is one who can assess a situation in all its complexity and make sound decisions free from emotion and impulsiveness, safeguarding the lives of his forces and preserving national achievements."

He further emphasized the necessity of raising levels of readiness and vigilance across all fronts, particularly in light of ongoing threats posed by the Houthi militia and terrorist organizations. He highlighted the importance of enhancing intelligence, reconnaissance (both aerial and ground), and coordination among all military and security units at all levels.

President Al-Zubaidi continued: "The battle the south is waging today is existential and brooks no complacency. The continued presence of these armed Houthi and terrorist groups poses a persistent threat to the security and stability of the south—and the entire region—which demands that everyone intensify their efforts and shoulder responsibility with a high sense of patriotism."

Concluding his remarks, President Al-Zubaidi reaffirmed that the Southern Armed Forces will remain the nation’s safeguard, an impenetrable shield protecting its gains, and will stay true to the blood of the martyrs. He reiterated their unwavering commitment to the strategic partnership with the Arab Coalition, led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and their continued execution of all tasks to achieve the desired national objectives.

Following his speech, President Al-Zubaidi listened to observations and interventions from participating military and security leaders, addressing various aspects of military and security operations. He provided necessary clarifications and directives, assuring that the leadership closely monitors all details and prioritizes overcoming challenges faced by field units and commanders across the governorates.
