President Al-Zubaidi Inspects Ongoing Efforts to Restart Aden Refinery

President Commander Aidarous  Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council and Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council, conducted an inspection visit on Monday to the Aden Refinery Company.

Upon his arrival at the company’s premises, President Al-Zubaidi was received by several members of the administrative board and technical staff, led by Engineer Saeed Mohammed, Acting General Manager and Deputy Executive Director of the company, who accompanied him on a field tour that included production units and key company facilities.

During the visit, President Commander Al-Zubaidi chaired a meeting with the company’s administrative board to closely review the progress of the ongoing efforts to restart this vital economic facility and to examine the urgent needs required for the upcoming phase.

In this context, President Al-Zubaidi listened to a detailed briefing from Engineer Saeed Mohammed, the Acting General Manager, regarding the nature of the technical work currently underway to operate several units. These include a mini-unit expected to produce around 6,000 barrels per day of mazut and diesel, as well as the vacuum distillation unit for asphalt production, which is anticipated to resume operations in early August. Additionally, he was briefed on ongoing maintenance work for the refinery’s power station aimed at enhancing the sustainable performance of the production units.

In his directive remarks during the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi emphasized that the Aden Refinery Company represents a strategic economic lifeline for the country. He stated: “We recognize the magnitude of challenges and difficulties facing the company, but we believe in your responsibility and competence. Today, you face a true test, and we have full confidence in you and your ability to overcome these obstacles and restart the refinery efficiently. We stand with you and beside you with all we have, as soldiers at the forefront of rebuilding and modernizing this economic landmark to restore its leading role.”

For their part, the Acting General Manager and all company staff expressed their sincere gratitude and appreciation to President Al-Zubaidi, affirming that this visit provides great moral support and serves as a powerful motivator for them to exert maximum efforts in completing the rehabilitation and reoperation processes, thereby contributing to the refinery’s return to its vital role in serving the homeland and citizen.
