President Al-Zubaidi Inaugurates New Ward and Lays Foundation Stone for Advanced Medical Units at Aboud Military Hospital

President Aidarous Al Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), and Commander-in-Chief of the Southern Armed Forces (SAFs), conducted on Sunday an inspection tour of Aboud Military Hospital in the capital, Aden.

President Al-Zubaidi began the paid visit by inspecting the health conditions of wounded members of the SAFs who are participating in the ongoing security campaign against Al-Qaeda elements in the eastern Abyan governorate, led by the Support and Reinforcement Brigades.

The President also toured new hospital departments established and equipped with funding from the STC, foremost among them an emergency complex that includes a general emergency department, major and minor operating rooms, and an intensive care unit.

During the tour, His Excellency was briefed on the level of modern medical equipment and the progress of operations, commending the efforts of the working medical staff and the development achieved over the past period.

As part of his paid visit, President Al-Zubaidi officially inaugurated a new inpatient ward, which was equipped by the Medical Services Department of the SAFs, with support from the Deputy Minister of Endowments, Sheikh Anwar Al-Amari, the former director of the Economic Corporation in the capital, Aden, with a current capacity of 80 beds, which is scheduled to increase to 140 beds in the coming days.

The President received a detailed briefing from Brigadier General Dr. Aref Al-Da'eri, head of the Medical Services Department, and Dr. Rania Farhan, the hospital director, on the new expansion, the medical staff, the hospital's capacity, and future plans to transform it into a comprehensive military medical city.

In an ambitious move to expand the hospital's medical services, President Al-Zubaidi laid the foundation stone for new departments dedicated to kidney and liver transplants, and for the Higher Institute of Military Health Sciences, which will focus on qualifying military medical personnel and enhancing their competencies to meet the field requirements of the SAFs.

President Al-Zubaidi emphasized that the leadership gives the highest priority to the military medical sector and will continue to support the development of health infrastructure and the enhancement of human and medical capabilities to ensure the best levels of healthcare are provided to members of the armed forces, security personnel, and the families of martyrs.

President Al-Zubaidi concluded his inspection visit by meeting with the hospital's medical and administrative staff, expressing his appreciation for the immense efforts of the medical and administrative teams, and praising the level of achievement and the quality of specialized services the hospital provides, particularly in performing complex surgical operations for the heroic wounded soldiers of the armed forces.
