The Southern Transitionan Council (STC) welcomes the opening of a Representative Office for the Embassy of the Republic of India in the capital, Aden, effective today, October 1, 2025. The STC leadership expresses its deep appreciation for this positive step, which affirms the solidity of the historical relations between our people in the South and the friendly Republic of India.

The opening of India's Representative Office in the capital, Aden, is an indicator of the seriousness of our friends in the Republic of India toward continuing and developing diplomatic work. It represents a window for serving citizens wishing to continue their movement between the two countries, students, workers, as well as businesspeople and Indian missions. Moreover, it reflects an important communication channel between the two countries to enhance the level of joint cooperation in various aspects.

The STC leadership reiterates its affirmation that the capital, Aden, enjoys a stable security environment and provides favorable conditions for the work of diplomatic missions and international organizations. It also confirms its readiness to offer all forms of support and facilities to ensure the office performs its duties safely and efficiently.

With this significant step, the STC calls upon the embassies of all sisterly and friendly nations to take similar steps by opening their missions in the capital, Aden, in support of the path to stability, enhancement of bilateral partnerships, and facilitation of consular and humanitarian services.
