The Executive Body of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Hadramout Governorate discussed the latest political and security developments in the governorate and the South during its meeting held today, Tuesday, in the city of Mukalla. The meeting was chaired by Ali Al-Jafri, with the participation of Lieutenant Colonel Mahdi Al-Muhammadi.

Al-Jafri praised the legendary steadfastness of the people of the South and their alignment with their political leadership. He expressed his gratitude to the "Hadramout Consensus Body," headed by Sheikh Mohammed Al-Basiri and all its members, for their efforts in bridging viewpoints between the Council and the local authority to prevent the governorate from sliding into civil strife.

The body expressed its satisfaction with the local authority's response to the Council's demands, which included the release of detainees, an end to the pursuit of activists, and the reopening of the Council’s offices in the governorate’s districts, while ensuring the freedom of expression and peaceful demonstration guaranteed by law.
It denounced the illegal measures practiced by the Saudi-backed "de facto authority" in the capital, Aden, against Council leaders, describing them as irresponsible actions. It warned against testing the patience of the Southern people, as these provocations represent a dangerous gamble that will be met with firm popular rejection.

Furthermore, it warned of attempts to dismantle the Hadrami Elite Forces and convert their duties into general security, considering this a conspiracy aimed at stripping them of heavy weaponry and weakening their ability to protect Hadramout. It emphasized that the Elite Forces are the most significant security achievement and that handing over the protection of the land to anyone other than its own people is completely rejected.

The body also offered congratulations on the occasion of the glorious April 24th anniversary, which marked the cleansing of Mukalla from terrorism with the support of the Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Additionally, Al-Jafri directed the celebrations committee to expedite preparations for commemorating "Land Day" on May 4, 2026, calling on the people of Hadramout to participate actively to reaffirm their commitment to the Southern identity.
