The establishment of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) was not merely a response to a political necessity, but a declaration of a new phase of “national maturity” under the leadership of President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi.

Despite the complexity of the international landscape and the accumulation of crises, the STC has managed to carve out a safe path for the South, transforming popular aspirations from a state of “resistance” into a framework of “statehood and institutions.”

Politically, the STC achieved a historic breakthrough by positioning the Southern cause as a central element in the regional and international peace equation.

Through the Riyadh Agreement and the Riyadh Consultations, the STC secured official recognition as a legitimate political party and a partner in decision-making.

This political success extended beyond representation to the consolidation of the “Southern National Charter,” which unified visions and components under one umbrella, making the Southern voice heard internationally with parity and confidence, effectively ending an era of political guardianship.

Militarily, the restructuring of the Southern Armed Forces under the leadership of President Al-Zubaidi has been a cornerstone in protecting the national project.

Southern forces have proven to be a “reliable partner” to the international community in combating terrorism, securing international maritime routes, and countering Houthi expansion.

The success in clearing southern governorates of extremist elements would not have been possible without a military leadership possessing strategic vision and a solid national doctrine, transforming combat units into an organized army that protects sovereignty and preserves stability.

Despite a systematic “war on services,” the STC has made significant efforts in strengthening administrative institutions. Through its various bodies, the Council has worked to activate oversight, support local authorities in Aden and other governorates, and improve administrative performance despite limited resources.

The experience of self-administration during a previous period also demonstrated the Council’s ability to manage affairs and serve citizens under the most difficult conditions, reinforcing confidence that Southern leadership possesses the competence to govern a future state.

The achievements realized under President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi reflect a careful balance between “political wisdom” and “military firmness.”

No matter how great the challenges, they have only made the Council more resilient. Today, the South is no longer merely a geography demanding its rights, but a formidable political and military entity with a clear vision toward restoring its fully sovereign state, driven by an institutional spirit that does not accept defeat.
