President Al-Zubaidi Emphasizes the Importance of Enhancing Coast Guard Capabilities and Strengthening Maritime Security

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council and Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Monday, with Major General KhaledAli Al-Qamali, Head of the Coast Guard Authority.

During the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi was briefed by Major General Al-Qamali on the progress of the authority’s work, the level of readiness and preparedness of its personnel to carry out their assigned duties in protecting the coasts and territorial waters, and the ongoing efforts to enhance operational capabilities in maritime security.

President Al-Zubaidi also received a report on the outcomes of the preparatory workshop for the Yemeni Maritime Security Partnership (YMSP) Conference, which was recently held in Amman, Jordan. He stressed the need to utilize the workshop’s findings to strengthen the Coast Guard’s capabilities and improve mechanisms for international cooperation in maritime security.

President Al-Zubaidi praised the ongoing efforts to develop maritime security partnership mechanisms, emphasizing the importance of bolstering security preparedness and enhancing joint coordination with regional and international entities to protect territorial waters and counter various maritime threats.

The meeting was attended by Imad Mohammed, Director of the Office of the Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council.
