UN Security Council Discusses Yemen as STC Renews Call to Protect Southern Population

The UN Security Council is holding a session today, Thursday, to review the latest developments in Yemen amid rising political and security tensions and worsening humanitarian challenges.

A representative of the UN Secretariat is expected to deliver a comprehensive briefing to Council members on recent developments, ongoing mediation efforts, and the impact of the escalation on the humanitarian situation.

The session comes as the Southern Transitional Council has called on the international community to provide international protection for the Southern population while exercising their right to political expression and to ensure that peaceful activities are not targeted.
