YouTube closes a new Houthi channel on its platform[/caption] YouTube management continued its campaign to close channels affiliated with the Houthi militia - Iran's arm in Yemen - on its platform, in light of the militias' continued exploitation of this platform to promote extremist ideas and incite violence. YouTube's management blocked and removed the "Traffic Media" channel affiliated with the Houthi militias. To be added to the dozens of channels that were closed months ago due to the published works that serve the Houthi ideas and their extremist project. The Houthi militias said in a statement published by the news agency under their control in Sanaa, that YouTube had closed more than 80 channels affiliated with them. They described what they were subjected to as arbitrary measures. Through its statement, the militias were directed to boycott YouTube after clamping down on its channels that violate publishing restrictions through the clips it promotes. During the past months of July and August, YouTube management closed 25 Houthi channels, most of which documented the military and intellectual side of the Iran-backed group. According to YouTube, the reasons that lead to the closure of accounts are the publication of hostile content and clips that incite hatred and fighting, which are published by the militia’s channels on various social media platforms. YouTube's closure of Houthi channels was widely welcomed by the Yemeni government and among Yemeni activists and followers, who called on the platforms of other sites, especially "X" and "Facebook", to take the same step to spare communities from the dangers of violence and hatred.
