In light of the escalating state of popular anger across the South in general, and in Hadramout and Al-Mahrah in particular, the scene in the South is no longer as it was. Under the administration of the de facto authorities, the features of a clear failure in managing basic files have been revealed, most notably services that have deteriorated in an unprecedented manner, weighing down the citizen and pushing them to the brink of despair.
Electricity is cut off for long hours, water is scarce, and prices are rising without regulation, while salaries—if they exist—are insufficient to cover the minimum requirements of life. All of this has created a deep rift between the street and the authorities, a gap that can no longer be bridged by promises or speeches, but rather widens with every passing day without real solutions.
With this decline, the authorities have resorted to repression as an option to confront angry voices. Instead of listening to people's demands, freedoms have been restricted and attempts have been made to silence protests. However, this policy has backfired, increasing the state of tension and igniting the spark of popular rejection more broadly.
The uprising of the Southern street was not born of a moment, but rather the result of a long accumulation of frustrations and daily suffering. People took to the streets not out of a desire for chaos, but in search of lost dignity and absent rights, emphasizing that silence is no longer an option in light of a worsening reality.
Today, the de facto authorities stand before a true test; they must either reconsider their policies and respond seriously to the citizens' demands, or face a rising wave of popular anger that may entirely redraw the scene. When the street moves, it cannot be ignored, and when it loses confidence, all options become open to unforeseen possibilities.
