President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council, chaired an expanded meeting on Wednesday. The meeting included members of the STC’s Presidency, ministers and deputy ministers affiliated with the STC in the government, heads of central and auxiliary bodies, chairpersons of the National Assembly committees, the Advisory Council, and departments of the General Secretariat.

At the outset of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi provided a comprehensive briefing on his recent foreign engagements, reviewing the outcomes of his meetings with a number of officials, ambassadors, and representatives of brotherly and friendly nations—particularly those sponsoring the political process in our country. These discussions primarily focused on addressing the deteriorating economic and service conditions and exploring possible ways to improve them and alleviate citizens' suffering.

In his remarks, President Al-Zubaidi noted that the recent protests and public anger witnessed in the capital, Aden, were a legitimate expression of genuine grievances. He affirmed that the STC does not shirk its responsibilities but rather addresses them with awareness and courage within the framework of the existing partnership in the Presidential Leadership Council and the government.

On the political front, President Al-Zubaidi reiterated that the political process cannot proceed with a militia designated as a high-risk terrorist organization threatening regional and international security and stability—especially in light of recent regional developments and the heavy blows dealt to its main ally, the Iranian regime.

Organizationally, President Al-Zubaidi indicated that the STC is preparing for an advanced step to enhance the performance of its leadership and organizational bodies based on a thorough and precise evaluation of its work over the past two years. This will involve injecting new blood into various leadership positions and organizational levels, both centrally and locally, to achieve a qualitative leap in institutional performance and strengthen integration and coordination in serving citizens and fulfilling their aspirations.

The President stressed the need to adopt a political and ethical behavioral approach that reflects national values and a responsible spirit, upholds discipline and transparency, and fosters teamwork to build institutions capable of achieving results and confronting challenges.

He reaffirmed that the STC remains open to all Southern forces and components, as well as anyone with a project that serves the aspirations of the Southern people—whether through an advanced partnership or coordination frameworks that preserve the gains of the Southern Revolution, honor the sacrifices of martyrs and the wounded, and unify ranks during this critical phase.

In concluding his speech, President Al-Zubaidi reiterated that the partnership between the STC and the Southern Armed Forces with their brothers in the Arab Coalition countriesprimarily the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates—is a firm and unwavering alliance. He emphasized that the STC and its armed forces remain loyal to all the sacrifices made to repel the Houthi threat from our people and country and to those who have provided full support in this endeavor.

At the end of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi listened to several interventions and inquiries from attendees regarding the latest political and economic developments on the local and regional fronts, as well as observations and visions focused on evaluating the STC’s overall performance in the past period and ways to develop institutional work and enhance its effectiveness at various levels. He provided the necessary clarifications on these matters.
